FRIENDS OF FERRARI WORLD CHAMPION  CAMERON

It was a wonderful day for our final race of the season, the Grand Prix of Canada.  The cars were fast and the kids were racing hard.  The weather was sunny and warm.  The drivers were dressed in the latest drivers fashions of the Ferrari Formula 1 Team in Italy.  We were able to make donations to 4 different organizations.

Mr. Joe Finamore, President of the Italian Cultural Centre received a donation.

A donation was made to Barbara Des Jardine of the North Fraser Therapeutic Riding Association.

A donation was made to Ms. Carolyn Tuckwell, Executive Director, with Sybille and Jeanine of Boys' & Girls' Clubs of Greater Vancouver.

A donation was made to Mr. Stephen Leary, President of the Strathcona Health Society.

Each driver received a Friends of Ferrari Medal and a Ferrari Gift Bag.

SEPTEMBER 7,   GRAND PRIX OF WOODWARDS

The city of Vancouver closed the streets for this annual race.  Thanks to all of the Vancouver Police Officers who helped us to stage our only street race of the year.  The public were quite excited to see this event.  A lot were tourists and they applauded our drivers with great enthusiasm.

AUGUST 24, 2008   GRAN PRIX OF ITALY

In spite of the dark skies and pouring rain the War Amps Champs kids still raced in this special event.  All of the parents were great and dressed their children in the Ferrari suits and clear plastic bags we provided.

Braydon was the official race starter as you can see in this photo he wore a plastic bag over his Ferrari jacket.  Because of the bad weather there were very few people attending the event.  But those who did come out were happy to see what troupers the kids were.

A donation was made to the War Amps Champs.

Sal Giantomasso, Cavalieri Ezio Bortolussi and Professor Nereo Bresolin from the Dino Ferrari Clinic in Milan, Italy.

Professor Bresolin was surprised to see the children racing in the rain.  But these kids know how important it is to raise money for research.

JULY 27,  2008     GRAN PRIX OF BRAZIL

Today was a super one for all the people who attended because they saw our races as well as an Exotic Car Show at the Italian Cultural Centre.

Thanks to the Directors of the Italian Cultural Centre we hold our fundraising races in their parking area every summer.

Our volunteers set up the racing course, Patricia supplies the music and the children provide the smiles of joy.

A donation was made to the Boys' & Girls' Clubs of Greater Vancouver.  Presenting was John Harris of Talee Lumber to Carolyn Tuckwell of the B & G.

Another great racing day combined with Italian Week at the Italian Cultural Centre.

Due to technical problems we are very late in updating this page.  Hopefully everything will go well from now on.

Our first race of the season was great.  The weather was a bit cool but the sun kept shining until the end of the afternoon.

April 26- We opened our 2008 season with a special presentation to the boys and girls who raced last year and help us to raise lots of money for charity.  Each child was given their photograph which had been autographed by Michael Schumacher 7 Times Formula 1 Champion, Team Ferrari.  Each year at the end of our racing season we send Michael the photos of the children and he kindly autographs them for the Friends of Ferrari.  Thank you Michael.  The children and their parents were excited to receive such a special gift.

The Friends of Ferrari say a special thanks to Sam Sullivan, Mayor of Vancouver for attending and opening our 2008 fundraising season.

We we able to make donations to a number of Charitable Organizations:  ZAJAC FOUNDATION,  TETRA SOCIETY OF NORTH AMERICA, BOYS' & GIRLS' CLUBS OF GREATER VANCOUVER, NORTH FRASER THERAPEUTIC RIDING SOCIETY.

In April we had the opportunity to meet Renzo Arbore the great Italian showman, actor, writer, jazz musician, and his Italian Orchestra.  Renzo and his teams kindly posed for photos with us and sent good wishes to all the Friends of Ferrari Team Members.
